A woman emailed me recently to ask a question about obtaining demographical information for her magazine. She stated that she had already contacted a marketing research firm that would provide the demographics that she needed on her target population for only $5,000 dollars. In essence, she wanted to know if this was a good deal, if she was being overcharged or if there was some other place that she could obtain the information she needed. I, matter-of-factly, told her that if she wanted to pay $5,000 dollars to that marketing firm she could but that I knew of a place where she could get all the demographics on her target audience for free—absolutely free!! Needless to say, she was quite incredulous but once I explained the process, she was so ecstatic that I saved her $5,000 dollars that she wanted to give me a tip and inquired if there was any way that she could make a donation via my website. Of course, it never dawned upon me to do such a thing. So, I thought about it and now voila!
I typically get a lot of email inquiries from people who want to start a magazine and, perhaps because it’s my nature, usually give out information freely in order to put people on the right path and prevent them from having to make unnecessary costly mistakes. Your donation will help me maintain this website and continue to add more informative content. Soon there will be free videos available that will cover various aspects on successfully launching a magazine, a blog where you can share your experiences and comments with others starting magazines and so much more! However, all this takes additional funds to make it happen. So, if I answered a question for you, provided links to a website with information you were searching for or you simply popped in and learned something new about magazine publishing, take a minute to make a small donation. Whatever you think the information is worth to you; feel free to donate that amount. You can make your donation via Paypal:

Respectfully,
Shawn Lindsey
